Skiing down France’s double-black diamond beach cliff roads into towns like Monte Carlo, Cannes and Nice pumps adrenaline like skiing, however, knowing the asphalt is far less forgiving than powder of the Alps increases the danger to the point of “fall and you die.”
The feeling is just like this:
The danger is beyond this – watch how this video was made, and consider doing this in shorts and a tee-shirt with a couple of cheap knee pads for safety. Helmet – what’s that?:
I recommend a full safety team with protective gear if you’re going to go over 15 mph. If you’re doing 40 mph, shirtless in shorts, you’re probably already dead.
Thanks to the good people at streetski.com for the video embeds. Oh, how I wish you made your street skis back on my 1981 street ski journey across France.
